Walking in the Rain...

One of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday afternoon is taking a walk with a good audio book - and the worse the weather the better.  I like to say that there is no bad weather, only bad clothing, so I put together a few rainy day outfits that go with my favorite audio books.

Product List

1) Sherlock Holmes - The Rediscovered Railway Mysteries

TV Sherlock telling stories about victorian Sherlock as Watson? I don't need to explain why I like this, do I?  As for the outfit, go with muted colors, a classic trench jacket, some high wellies, top it of with a cool hat, and you'll feel like you're solving the case alongside  Holmes and Watson.

Product List

2) Casanova - The Venetian Years

"Read by Benedict Cumberbatch" should be all you need to know, but all kidding aside, it's quite amazing (and hot). Wear a comfy sweater dress under a military trench, and pair it with classic riding boots, and floral or lace tights to make the look more romantic.

Product List

3) Nancy Drew

I know they're for kids, but so fun and relaxing - I'll never be too old for them. To get the Nancy Drew look, go with pastel skinny jeans, a cozy sweater, cute wellies (the bows are a must), a parka, and - because Nancy is always prepared for everything -  an umbrella (choose a striped or plaid one - the preppier the better).

So what is your favorite way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon?  Let me know, comment below!

Pretty Little Valentine

I started my Valentine's Day with Pretty Little Liars, and the first thing that caught my eye  was Hanna's gorgeous red Tweed Jacket:

The jacket  can be found at Tory Burch and  is currently on sale. But it's not the only red thing that stood out in the episode.  If you don't wanna splurge on a new  coat, take a clue from Spencer and  spice up your old one with some red hot details - like sewing on your buttons with red thread:

Happy Valentine's Day!

February Loves

New month new obsessions....

1) H&M Cable Knit Sweaters  -  I love me some classic cable knit sweaters, and while Polo Ralph Lauren is usually the right address for that their sweaters never seem to fit me right (M's too loose and S too short... ). So I was very excited to find those adorable sweaters at H&M (for only 14.99). I left the store with a navy and a pink one, but they also had a lovely kelly green one  that I might have to get as well...

2) Burberry Brit perfume -  This is an old love. I ran out of my signature Peace,Love&Juicy and rediscovered Brit. It is such a nice, clean but warm scent that I might stick to this one for a while (...and yes, I just realized that I'm horrible at describing scents)

3) Jack White "Love Interruption" -  I'm obsessed with this song, and can't wait for the album, it's gonna be amazing! Just listen to the song here:  Jack White III

4) The Maltese Falcon -  I've always loved the movie but had never read the book (I know  shame on me...). But after putting it on the reading list for my crime fiction exam there was no way around it...lets just say I finished it in one night and spent all my iTuney money on more of Hammett's detective stories.

5) Anything Benedict Cumberbatch -  And I really mean anything. From "Sherlock" to his audio book work, over "To the Ends of the Earth" to him reading Children's stories or my favorite poem:

...I'm just gonna have to marry him.

So what are you loving this February? Let me know, comment below!

Hare and Hounds

First of let me apologize for the lack of updates, but now that my last exam is over I'm gonna make up for it. The exam was a lively discussion about  the roles of women in detective stories - yeah they gave me a grade for talking about Irene Adler and Nancy Drew, needless to say that I aced it ;)

...so now it's time for some celebratory shopping. And what's better than shoes? While I was searching the interwebs for a pair of army green Wellies, I stumbled across Joules. I'm no stranger to the brand, in fact I own a couple of the adorable polos with the little hare emblem, but I had no idea about the cuteness of their Wellies:

Does it get any cuter than this?  If I didn't already own a pair of Navy Hunters I would have ordered the navy/yellow ones without thinking twice...but since I really don't need two pair of navy rainboots I  ordered the green bow booties.  Now it just needs  to get a little warmer so I can wear them...

...with the amazing fake fur parka (the fur lining's removable) I found at Benetton. Hey it was on my way home, and on sale for only 99 euros...

(excuse the quality)
